Developmental psychologist with expertise in adolescent social, emotional and cognitive development. Extensive experience in post-baccalaureate secondary teacher education, and undergraduate preparation for prospective educators. Advanced degrees in Spanish, educational foundations and psychology. Research background in neurophysiology (event-related brain potentials in young children). Thirty years of K-12 classroom and resource teacher experience blended with 20 years of part-time university teaching in psychology and educational psychology at the University of Hawaii. Community involvement in public charter school board leadership (5 years, including 4 as board chair or vice-chair). Conversational fluency in Spanish and Portuguese. Experience teaching anbd coordinating gifted and talented programs in both elementary and high school settings. Photography, sailing and the southern hemisphere all fascinate me, followed closely by Latin music and great guitarrists.
