Extensive experience in post-baccalaureate secondary teacher education, and undergraduate preparation for prospective educators. Advanced degrees in Spanish, educational foundations and psychology. Research background in neurophysiology (event-related brain potentials in young children). Thirty years of K-12 classroom and resource teacher experience blended with 20 years of part-time university teaching in psychology and educational psychology at the University of Hawaii. Community involvement in public charter school board leadership (5 years, including 4 as board chair or vice-chair). Conversational fluency in Spanish and Portuguese. Experience teaching anbd coordinating gifted and talented programs in both elementary and high school settings.
