Dr. Kennedy is an educational researcher and consultant. She has focused on the areas of K-12 online, blended, and digital learning for over 15 years as well as social and emotional learning for teachers and students, in addition to trauma education for over five years. Her work centers on research to practice and policy, coaching educators in research-based best practices. She owns and operates Wellness for Educators. Through somatic approaches, including but not limited to yoga, Qigong, Tai Chi, as well as meditation and mindfulness, and other therapeutic modalities, the tissues that hold traumatic experiences have the potential to be healed. Using her own personal experience with severe ACEs, Dr. Kennedy provides strategies, professional learning, and other opportunities to empower educators to work with their own traumas, secondary traumatic stress, and emotions so that they can empower their students to do the same to empower and heal themselves.
