USA and Thailand
Amy has been a pioneer in the field of emotional intelligence and ethical social and emotional learning (SEL) for 20 years. Consulting with schools, human service agencies and universities in the USA and internationally, she has co-created courses to develop cultures, pedagogy and skill sets that preserve curiosity, nurture self awareness and self navigation, rely on inclusive participation, inspire compassionate change making, develop compassionate, accountable decision making skills and help individuals and institutions align their actions with their stated values and intentions.  She was the founding Director of Social and Emotional Learning and Mindfulness at the UWC-Thailand.
She is an inspiring trainer and mentor for leaders, teachers, parents, and students and is a lifelong learner committed to restructuring education globally. She considers SEL to be a lever for equity and social justice, an approach for exploring identity, agency and belonging. She is currently collaborating with colleagues in Thailand to research existing skills of resilience exhibited by refugees, framing these competencies within models of SEL. She is concurrently working with policy makers and practitioners in New Mexico to create more equitable, child-centered schools, lead by healthy, intentional and positively engaged adults.
