Advocate for Social Justice in Education
Aayesha Fazal is a young educator, passionate about social justice and equity. She has taught and designed curricula in refugee contexts, including with the high school diploma program created by the non-profit Amala. Her personal drive is in supporting the Rohingya community, who she has worked with directly in Malaysia for three years. She co-founded the edtech initiative Rohingya Eskul, and leads an international team of young and passionate change makers in creating accessible mother-tongue resources for the Rohingya diaspora. Aayesha is an alumna of UWC (United World Colleges) and continues to be involved in the global movement. She facilitates and coordinates UWC short courses to international bodies of students; remotely and through in-person summer camps. From a multicultural background as a Singaporean-Sri Lankan, Aayesha is dedicated to fostering positive and productive narratives around diversity, multiculturalism and inclusion.
