Reframing Curriculum With Student Voice/Choice

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Building on the content of my Fireside Chat about student voice /choice - participants will engage as learners in a creative making activity rooted in voice/choice. The activity will start with vague parameters and at each increment a structural component will be added to model what elements can be used to create effective choice/voiced based learning environments.

The incremental sections will correspond to: 1. Empowering students as leaders, 2. Choice-friendly assessment, 3. Teaching what you don’t know (using effective models), 4. Tailored scaffolding for students.

There will be opportunities for conversation and reflection woven throughout. At the conclusion, participants will leave with their experience as a choice/voice learner, a creative piece developed and evolved over the course of the session, and practical models (for leadership/facilitation structures, assessment, models, and scaffolding).
