How can you best create the systems, curriculums and values needed to enable others to lead genuine and longlasting change, whilst appreciating the diverse needs and desires of communities? This is the question I'm still trying to answer.
I speak openly and honestly from both my experience in the UK education sector in developing curriculums and school-wide stratgies to embed service learning and social understanding, and from my experiences of founding and leading EduSpots - an organisation focused around connecting, training and equipping educational 'catalyts' to drive community-led focused around 42 community-led education Spots.
I will describe the challenges I've encountered along the way, lessons learnt, and an ambitious vision facing forwards for embedding curriculum-centred education in curriculums and systems across the world.
