Using design thinking to create effective learning experiences

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Learn how to integrate research-based learning science into the design thinking process to put learners’ needs and your organisational goals at the centre of every decision you make.

Participants will get an introduction to the design thinking process, including tried-and-tested activities to promote creative problem solving. From there, we will explore a set of fundamental learning science principles based on the latest research into what actually works in learning. The magic happens when we look at how to embed these learning principles into your design thinking process to ensure you are moving towards a solution that really works.

This is an important topic in learning innovation as it helps aspirational learning organisations approach their product development in a creative, learner-centred way. By utilising the design thinking process you can avoid investing time and money in learning solutions that no-one wants, and by folding in an understanding of learning principles you can be confident your solution will actually help the learners for whom you are designing.

This session is perfect for participants who are responsible for designing, developing or deploying learning or training programmes/products. It is ideal for Learning Designers who are looking to enrich their practice, or Learning and Development professionals that are interested in innovative ways to meet the needs of their teams.
