[RE]LEARN 2020 - The Learning Innovation Festival

This session will be based around a standard lecture format.
The session will be suitable for all who are engaged in education, but especially for those who have leadership responsibilities - broadly defined.
In the contemporary world one of the significant challenges is to reconcile the demands of the pervasive market culture (where often measured outcomes dominate), with the culture of human formation deriving from an education based on hope, love and justice. Is there a way of avoiding this duality, and understanding that the effective education of students has to pay attention to the growth of the inner self.
This is an important issue since those engaged in leadership in education have to be able to articulate their personal/professional vision, and to have strategies for putting these into practice. To fail to have a vision is to be open to the whims of external influences that are often inconsistent.
One of the features of this session will be addressing the needs of "Generation Z" as part of a "new world" of education. The implications of this for leadership will be explored.
