The workshop will offer an opportunity for participants to explore and apply the key concepts of impact mapping as an alternative assessment method. Using the online tool, applicants will map their own teaching process, learning process, as well as collaboratively mapping complex capabilities such as creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, resilience, communication, and disciplinary skills (both cognitive and practical).

The output will be a collection of individual and collaborative impact maps producing a profile for learning activity, focusing on planned and emergent learning impact based on each participants anecdotal experience.

Participants will develop an understanding of how the mapping of learning impact according to agency and knowledge exchange can provide a continuum model to recognise learning impact holistically. They will explore both disciplinary, interdisciplinary, transversal skills, and complex capabilities.

The workshop will also investigate how this model can be applied to both planned and emergent learning impact, and explore opportunities for implementation in the varied contexts of the participants learning and teaching experience.

The workshop will also address the need for alternative methods of assessment and recognition of learning, within the context of an emergent Industry 4.0, with a particular focus on the complex capabilities needed. What should Learning 4.0 look like? How will it develop personalised approaches to managing complexity and coherence making?

Following the workshop, participants will be invited to continue exploring, with an opportunity to participate more fully as a collaborator in the research of the project.
