In this workshop, we will further explore the ways in which you can incorporate self-determined learning into your online classroom. When you arrive to the workshop, you will be asked to reflect upon your current approach to online learning. How do you teach online now? Based on what you have learned in the presentation, how might you move toward more self-determined learning? Participants will then share their current approaches to online learning. Next, we will brainstorm and then discuss different techniques for moving instruction to a more learner-centered approach, with the student taking more responsibility in defining his or her learning activities. Finally, we will identify strategies for building these techniques into the online instruction. (Based on number of attendees, workshop activities may be carried out as small-group activities.)
