The history of school transformation is marked by exciting one-off examples that show great promise but rarely create the seismic change required to transform education. To effect lasting change we need to build capacity in schools to network transformation within and beyond each schools context. Drawing on our books (co-authored with Dr Miranda Jefferson) Transforming Schools (2017), Transforming Organizations (2020) and Transforming Education (2021) this presentation will outline somme of the key features of developing and sustaining transformation beyond 'one-off' lighthouse schools. Drawing on our experience in long term partnerships with 50 schools across Australia we will discuss how a re-imagining of pedagogy, curriculum and assessment creates the foundations for long-terms sustainable and beneficial change all driven by a deep connection with creativity, collaboration, communication and critical reflection (the 4Cs).
