As we return to schools and some semblance of normalcy, will we return to the past or can we capitalize on lessons learned and go back to the future?
Social confinement, the pandemic, and learning online, provided schools all over the world with a unique opportunity to shed meaningless educational dogmas and refocus on what is essential for learning in the current and future context. Going back to school buildings presents the very relevant but non-less formidable challenge of discerning what is relevant and meaningful from the online experience in order to decisively take a step forward in learning within a completely redefined paradigm.
The session will focus on a review of the salient learnings from the online modality, a gallery of advanced technology tools, a brief tour around the world featuring best practices during the pandemic, and, essentially, how to transcend the traditional cells and bells physical model of schooling towards one that can be delivered seamlessly in person, online, or in a hybrid environment.
The goal is to identify the main drivers for this transformation, and, based on them, develop strategies for a model that delivers the online experience physically at school, and allows to naturally transition, eventually, from the physical to the online medium back again.
