[RE]LEARN 2020 - The Learning Innovation Festival has ended

The Edge Program of Leysin American School: creating the right amount of alternative education in a traditional setting

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

After providing a brief context of the Edge program, the discussion will turn to how small innovative programs can get started in traditional settings, based on the experience of the participants, guided by the facilitator. We will post questions and comments using the free and easily accessible online tool called "agile.coffee" in order to upvote topics most relevant to participants. The resulting conversation will may set the stage for further exploration of the guiding principles of the Edge program, agility and agency, and for sure will lead to attempts to initiate reform and innovation, both successful and failed examples, that we can learn from.

There will be some collaborative work and thinking time using JamBoard or slides of a presentation (for generating ideas visible to all without the jerky confusion of a shared Google document) and a time for networking and share resources among participants in order to continue the conversation long after the workshop is over. The presenter will have a back up plan in the event participants are not full of resources themselves (hardly a possibility with this group!), but just in case. The back up plan will lean a bit more toward a presentation of the enablers and roadblocks experience in the ongoing roll out of the Edge Program, filled with plenty of questions along the way for participants to discuss.
