[RE]LEARN 2020 - The Learning Innovation Festival

Has pedagogy had its day? Could Heutagogy be the answer? Mary-Lou will provide an introduction to heutagogy and explain why she thinks it's worthy of consideration if we are serious about dismantling the constructs of education.

I believe this is an important topic in learning innovation just because the terminology doesn't appear in the K-12 vernacular. It is language from higher education. By definition it is the study of self-determined learning and In the past it was only the right of an adult to have the opportunity to learn that way.

The learning objective is to introduce the idea of heutagogy and challenge their ideas around teaching and learning. I will demonstrate how technology can provide the tools to support self-directed and personalised learning and explain why the pandemic has provided us the perfect opportunity to do this now!

The participants will I expect will learn, many for the first time about and be challenged and provoked to think about new ways of supporting students.
